| Good for | Warm, bright spring weather · Lush countryside & vineyards · Perfect conditions for Volubilis · A relaxed Fes-and-Meknes circuit |
April is one of Meknes's finest months. Daytime highs settle around 23°C, the surrounding Saiss plain and vineyards are lush and green, and the spring light is clear and generous. Rain becomes occasional rather than frequent, evenings are pleasantly mild, and the imperial monuments — the Bab Mansour gate, the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, the Heri es-Souani granaries and the medina — are comfortable to explore from morning to dusk.
Every tour is private, led by a licensed local guide, and fully customisable to your interests and pace. Prices are per person based on two travellers.

It is ideal timing to combine the city with its countryside. The warm, dry weather is perfect for the exposed Roman ruins of Volubilis, where the mosaics, the Capitol and the Triumphal Arch sit among green grass and wildflowers, with storks nesting on the columns. The nearby holy hill town of Moulay Idriss completes a rewarding day trip, and Fes is a short hop away for a two-city imperial circuit at the height of spring.
Crowds and prices begin to build with the spring travel season, but Meknes stays markedly calmer than headline Fes next door, so it remains relaxed and good value by comparison. The combination of warm, bright days, green landscapes and reliably mild weather makes April a near-ideal month for a first, full-featured visit to Morocco's most overlooked imperial city and its Roman ruins.
