Why Easter 2027
A well-placed Easter

A riad courtyard with a tiled fountain and orange trees Clear of Ramadan
Ramadan is expected from about 8 February to 8 March 2027, with Eid al-Fitr about 9 March. By Easter weekend, about three weeks later, cafés, souks and workshops keep their normal hours.

Late March brings warm days in Marrakech and the south, green palm groves in the oases and snow still on the High Atlas peaks. Desert nights are cold and clear, ideal for a night in the dunes.

Easter school holidays across much of Europe fall around these dates, and Marrakech riads with only a handful of rooms go first. Family rooms and desert camp tents are the first to book out.

Four days covers Marrakech and an Atlas or desert excursion. With a week or more of school holidays, you can cross the Atlas to the Sahara and add Fes or Chefchaouen.

Dates to know in 2027
The 2027 dates that shape this trip
“About” means the date depends on the moon; “usually” means the 2027 dates are not announced yet. We confirm both in your proposal.
Good to know
Easter in Morocco, practically
Easter is not a Moroccan holiday
Morocco is a Muslim country, so Good Friday and Easter Monday are normal working days: monuments, souks and banks keep their usual hours. Marrakech, Casablanca, Rabat and Tangier have Catholic churches if you want an Easter service.
Pack for two seasons
Late-March days are warm, but the Atlas passes and desert nights can be close to freezing. Bring a warm layer and a light jacket alongside summer clothes.
Marathon des Sables
The desert ultramarathon usually runs in April in the south-east. If it falls close to your dates, we confirm camp availability early.

Easter 2027 in Morocco: your questions
When is Easter 2027?
Good Friday is 26 March 2027, Easter Sunday 28 March and Easter Monday 29 March. Many European school holidays fall in the weeks around these dates.
Does Easter 2027 clash with Ramadan in Morocco?
No. Ramadan 2027 is expected from about 8 February to 8 March, with Eid al-Fitr about 9 March, so Easter falls about three weeks after the fast ends and daily life is back to normal hours.
What is the weather like in Morocco at Easter 2027?
Late March is spring: warm days in Marrakech and the south, green oases, snow on the High Atlas peaks and cold, clear nights in the Sahara. Pack a warm layer for evenings.
Is Easter a holiday in Morocco?
No. Good Friday and Easter Monday are normal working days, so sights, souks and banks are open. The major cities have Catholic churches holding Easter services.
How far ahead should we book Morocco for Easter 2027?
A few months ahead. School holidays fill small riads, family rooms and desert camp tents first. Send your dates early and we hold the places you want.
How many days do we need over Easter?
Three or four days suits Marrakech and an Atlas day. Six or seven days reaches the Sahara, and nine days adds Fes and Chefchaouen. Every route is private and built around your dates.
